Artists
Miguel Paredes
Miguel Paredes is a painter. He is a sculptor and a multi-media artist. He is a muralist and underground graffiti tagger who at the age of thirteen worked the tunnels and school yards of his native New York under the moniker MIST. He is a Hip-hop and Anime fuelled digital pioneer who integrates the spirit of urban America with a distinctly Latin American flavor. He is a creator of collectible toys, an inventor, a chef and a business entrepreneur. He is a dissembler of new ideas, a charismatic and spontaneous creator who works harder than everyone around him to turn up the volume and re-enchant the possible. Miguel Paredes is the shape of his life experiences and it has made him a more powerful force than any singular effect ever could.
Paredes draws the viewer into a never ending interaction with the canvas immersing the viewer in a phenomenal visual experience as well as a rich inner journey about Time and memory. Paredes paints magnificent images that create an atmosphere of questioning and mystery and once engaged it is almost impossible to stop looking, to stop seeing the many subtleties, the slang, and the authentic force of his accomplishments as a painter. Paredes is deeply interested in how he can help information and knowledge flow from one generation to another and his solutions are always creative, novel and hip.

UR New York Collective
Our mission as a collective is to create an urban industrial feel to our art by combining mediums such as photography, silk-screening, graphic design, and graffiti. Each piece tells the story of our lives, our struggles, and our environments. We want to inspire creativity amongst people specifically the youth so they can pick up where we leave off.
Collective Bio:
Teamed together thru the art of grafitti Mike Baca aka 2ESAE and Fernando Romero aka SKI joined forces with the intentions to learn and grow as artists.
Prior to the thought of ever making a living from creating art, we were forcing people to view our work around the city, illegally. We spent years painting the streets and dealing with the repercussions of the law until we decided to do something positive with our talents by forming a collective. We have put together nearly 50 show/events in the U.S and Internationally. The collective is based on the philosophy of creation through destruction, transforming the street graffiti perception into positive urban-industrial art.
Both members are New York based artists. We primarily began doing art on the streets and subway system of the city before ever touching a canvas. Collectively, we have a long history of graffiti experience but also different styles, tools and creative elements we implement into our creative process. We combine the use of photography, paints, silk-screen, graphic design elements, illustrations, oxidation and collage to our works.
Today, we have become a permanent fixture in SoHo, New York. Our art speaks to people of all ages, colors and cultures across the globe. Collectively, we have showcased our work in many venues in the U.S and Internationally.
Aside from creating and selling art, we take time off to give back to our community. We do motivational speaking at elementary and high schools,
put together art workshops. We tell our stories to the children in hopes of inspiring and supporting their artistic dreams. As a collective, we strive to work together creating, showcasing, and educating the world about our ‘world’.
